As we look forward to the Latchi 2026 season, there is a palpable sense of renewal in the air
For decades, Latchi has been cherished as the “best-kept secret” of Cyprus, a tranquil fishing village where the rugged Akamas Peninsula meets the shimmering Mediterranean. Now Nalu arrived, things are going to change.
But 2026 marks a historic turning point. With significant investment and a wave of new energy, Latchi is evolving into a premier destination for those seeking a blend of high-end luxury at Nalu and raw, natural beauty. At George’s Watersports, we’ve been part of this community since 1989, and we are thrilled to welcome you to a season that promises to be our most vibrant yet.

The New Standard: Nalu Latchi Leonardo Limited Edition
The biggest headline for the region is the grand opening of Nalu Latchi – Leonardo Limited Edition. Opening in Summer 2026, this resort is a masterclass in modern Mediterranean hospitality. Designed with a “Cypriot-inspired” aesthetic, the resort is a haven for families and luxury travellers alike.
Located just a short, scenic stroll from the harbour, Nalu Latchi brings a level of sophistication previously unseen in the area. The resort features 240 rooms and suites, including the highly sought-after swim-up junior suites, as well as a dedicated botanical garden and a nature reserve. For foodies, the resort offers four distinct restaurants, including a high-end Asian specialty spot and an Italian restaurant with live cooking stations.
The arrival of a brand like Leonardo confirms what locals have known for years: Latchi is no longer just a day-trip destination. It is now a primary hub where guests can linger, relax, and fully immerse themselves in the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Cultural Spotlight: The Sea and Culture Museum
A major highlight for the 2026 season is the newly opened Sea and Culture Museum, located right on the Latchi waterfront. Housed in a beautifully repurposed carob warehouse, once the centre of the region’s “black gold” trade, this museum is far from a traditional gallery.
It blends history with the future, utilizing cutting-edge Virtual and Augmented Reality to bring the depths of the Mediterranean to life. The centrepiece is a massive, 60-square-meter circular LED video wall that wraps around the room, pulling you directly into the underwater world. It’s an immersive journey where you don’t just observe the sea’s history; you become part of the maritime world, exploring everything from ancient shipwrecks to the unique biodiversity of the Akamas.
The Future of Latchi Harbour & Highway
The expansion of Latchi Harbour is the most ambitious infrastructure project in the region’s history. While the long-term vision involves tripling the harbour’s capacity to 350 berths, the 2026 season sees the “green port” concept coming to life.
You’ll notice a refreshed energy along the docks. Local tavernas and boutiques have updated their facilities to welcome the influx of guests, creating a waterfront that perfectly balances traditional charm with a new, cosmopolitan energy. The harbour remains the heartbeat of the village, serving as the primary gateway for those looking to explore the Akamas by sea.
Traveling to Latchi is also set to become easier than ever. The restart of the new Paphos-Polis highway project is paving the way for a much faster and safer connection between the south coast and our tranquil bay. Once completed, this major upgrade will bypass the winding mountain roads, significantly cutting travel time from Paphos International Airport. Meaning less time in transit and more fun time on the water!
The Museum of Marion-Arsinoe
While the Sea and Culture Museum cover the water, the Archaeological Museum of Marion-Arsinoe in nearby Polis Chrysochous covers the land. This museum houses an incredible collection of gold jewellery and limestone sculptures found in the ancient kingdoms that once ruled this bay. It is a quiet, air-conditioned sanctuary where you can connect with the 3,000-year history of the region.
The Myth of the Land where, beyond the new developments, the soul of Latchi remains in its legends.
A visit to the Baths of Aphrodite remains essential. In 2026, the nature trails surrounding the grotto have been meticulously maintained, offering the best panoramic sunset views in Cyprus. It is the perfect place to start your morning before heading down to the harbour for a day on the water.
The Ultimate Blue Lagoon Experiences
Despite the new land-based luxuries, the true magic of Latchi happens offshore. The Blue Lagoon experiences remain the pinnacle of any Cyprus holiday. At George’s Watersports, we specialize in putting you in control. Whether you want to be the captain of your own 150hp or 250hp speedboat or prefer a luxury yacht charter with a professional skipper, the Blue Lagoon is best experienced at your own pace. Anchor in secluded coves, snorkel in the shimmering glass-like waters, and escape the crowds.
Proximity Note for Nalu Guests: Our docks are located just 300 meters (a 5-minute stroll) from the new Nalu Latchi resort. For guests staying there, the convenience is unmatched, you can walk from your hotel breakfast straight onto your private boat.
