We’re talking practical stuff: launching and recovering your boat, docking like a pro, mastering man overboard drills, and getting a feel for planing speed. Plus, you’ll get the lowdown on collision rules, those essential guidelines that keep everyone safe out there. No experience? No problem. This course is built for beginners and seasoned boaters alike to show up ready to learn.
We run it all from Latchi Harbour, a gem on Cyprus’s northwest coast. Theory happens in our classroom, but the real action’s on the water, cruising along the stunning shoreline. Cyprus’s weather is a dream for this; sunny skies and calm seas mean you’ll spend most of your time practising on the boat and not stuck indoors.
The RYA Course runs for two consequetive days (9:00–17:00), with a max of three people per instructor, so you’re getting plenty of one-on-one attention. By the end, you’ll have the skills to handle a powerboat in the right conditions, plus the option to snag an International Certificate of Competence (ICC) – a must if you’re planning to hire boats overseas. Local rules mean you’ve got to be 18, but that’s it for restrictions. We run courses year-round, though spots fill up fast, so lock in your place early.

If you’re a Cyprus resident with a boat (or looking to purchase one), the Cyprus Speedboat Operator’s License isn’t optional; it’s the law. Since you’re already here for the RYA course, it’s the perfect time to tick this box, too, and we can weave it right into your two-day timeline.
We’ll sort the details while you’re with us, arrange your learner’s permit (often issued on the spot) and book your Department of Merchant Shipping (DMS) exam date. No extra trips are needed, just one seamless process.
Our instructors will get you ready with lessons tailored to where you’re at, all slotted into those two RYA days. New to boating? We’ll ensure you have everything you need before the exam.
Got some hours under your belt? We’ll adjust to focus on what you need.
You’ll cover the theory—like navigation basics and safety regs—alongside practical training, and we’ll hand you the study materials to back it up.
