The format, in our experience, is usually different. Most yacht vacations in Cyprus are built around a stay on land, a villa, a hotel, a rented apartment up the hill from Latchi – with one or several days on the water as the centrepiece.
The boat is the star of the holiday, but it’s a day-charter star, not a live-aboard one.
That’s the kind of yacht vacation we run from Latchi. A day-charter yacht is a very specific piece of architecture. It has to work harder than a cruiser that lives out on a week-long passage, because every expectation of the day is compressed into eight hours. The first drink has to be cold by ten. The shade has to be ready when the sun turns from a gift into a negotiation. The swim platform has to be wide enough for children and grandparents to share without anyone apologising. The crew has to read the group’s mood before the group has fully formed one.

Voyager
Voyager is a Sea Ray 52, which in plain terms means a motor cruiser designed around the idea that up to twenty people should be able to share a day on the water without anyone resenting anyone else by hour three. That is a harder design problem than it sounds, and Voyager solves it with geometry.
The cockpit is wide and wrap-around, built for groups that actually want to sit together.
The flybridge gives you a second, entirely separate social zone with its own seating and table, so one half of the group can be in the sun at altitude, and the other half can be at sea-level in the shade, and both halves can pretend they’re having the better time. The saloon is air-conditioned, the dining area has a proper wooden table with enough wrap-around bench seating to actually feed everyone at once, and the swim platform is genuinely enormous.
Two cabins are available for changing, for a quieter hour below, or for the one guest who needs thirty minutes of air conditioning and a lie-down at the hottest point of the afternoon. Entertainment system, open galley, BBQ, satellite TV, Wi-Fi – everything a long day asks for.
